1. Tropical Rainforest:
Tropical rainforests are dense, lush forests that typically receive high amounts of annual rainfall. These biomes are located near the equator and have a warm and humid climate. The dense canopy of trees allows very little sunlight to reach the forest floor, creating a dark and damp environment. A wide variety of plant and animal species call the tropical rainforest home, including colorful birds, monkeys, jaguars, and countless plant species like orchids and epiphytes. Due to the abundance of rainfall and nutrients, tropical rainforests are some of the most biodiverse ecosystems on Earth.
2. Desert:
Deserts are arid landscapes that receive very little precipitation, making them one of the driest biomes on Earth. Deserts can be found in regions around the world, including parts of Africa, Australia, and the southwestern United States. Due to the extreme temperatures and lack of water, deserts are often characterized by sparse vegetation, such as cacti, succulents, and tumbleweeds. Animals that inhabit deserts have adapted to the harsh conditions, including camels, kangaroo rats, and scorpions. Despite the scarcity of water, deserts are still home to a surprising amount of biodiversity, with many species evolving unique adaptations to survive in the harsh environment.
