My heart pounded in my chest as I stood up and awkwardly stumbled through a brief introduction. To my surprise, the class greeted me with smiles and nods of approval, instantly making me feel more at ease.
Throughout the day, I found myself making new friends and adjusting to the different dynamics of middle school. I navigated through the hallways, attempting to avoid the upperclassmen who seemed so intimidating. By the end of the day, I realized that 8th grade wasn't as scary as I had initially thought.
