One example of a tropical storm is Hurricane Harvey, which struck Texas, USA, in 2017. It reached tropical storm strength before intensifying into a Category 4 hurricane. However, during its earlier stage as a tropical storm, it had sustained winds of around 65 mph (105 kph) and heavy rainfall. This resulted in severe flooding and caused widespread damage to infrastructure and communities in its path.
