Study Tips
Are there any topics that you need to go back and review? Use the following tips while studying:

Review your results on previous assessments in this unit.
Identify the two or three topics you had the most difficulty with and go over those lessons.
Create a diagram that shows how a text’s characters, plot, and setting interact.
Teach a friend or family member how to provide textual evidence to support inferences drawn from a literary text.

Reflection:

One strategy I can use to determine the theme of a literary text is to look for recurring symbols or motifs throughout the story. I feel confident about my ability to provide an objective summary of a literary text because I have practiced identifying the main events and key details that contribute to the overall plot. It can be challenging to determine the connotative meanings of words and phrases in a literary text because they often rely on cultural or contextual references that can be subjective. To overcome this challenge, I will rely on context clues and do additional research if needed.
