What is the difference between physical activity and working out/exercise?

Physical activity refers to any bodily movement that requires energy expenditure, such as walking, gardening, playing sports, or doing household chores. Physical activity can be either planned (intentional) or unplanned (incidental) and includes activities involved in daily life routines.

Working out or exercise, on the other hand, refers to a specific form of physical activity that is structured, repetitive, and aims to improve or maintain physical fitness, health, or performance. Exercise usually involves planned and purposeful activities that target specific muscle groups or cardiovascular fitness. It often includes activities like running, weightlifting, swimming, or participating in fitness classes. Unlike physical activity, exercise is typically done for a specific duration, intensity, and frequency, following a predetermined plan or program.
