How much of your plate should have protein on it?

According to the USDA's MyPlate guidelines, protein should make up about ¼ of your plate. This means that a quarter of your plate should consist of protein-rich foods such as lean meat, poultry, fish, beans, tofu, or eggs. The remaining half of your plate should be filled with fruits and vegetables, and the remaining quarter with whole grains or starchy foods. It is essential to have a balanced diet that includes a variety of nutrients from different food groups.
