Read pH91 and write a definition, in your own words, of who the Loyalists were
Read American Independence pH85-86 and answer pH86 #4 - Why did loyalists come to Quebec at this time? If you had lived in one of the Thirteen Colonies, do you think you would have become a Loyalist?

The Loyalists were a group of people who remained loyal to the British Crown during the American Revolution. They believed in the idea of staying united with Britain and maintaining their loyalty towards the British government. They were often persecuted by the Patriots and faced many challenges in their attempt to uphold their beliefs.

According to pH86 #4, the Loyalists came to Quebec at this time seeking refuge and protection from the Patriots who were targeting them for their loyalty towards Britain. Quebec was a British colony and offered a safe haven for Loyalists. The British also encouraged Loyalists to come to Canada as they believed it would help to increase the population and strengthen their hold on the colony.

If I had lived in one of the Thirteen Colonies during the American Revolution, it is difficult to say whether or not I would have become a Loyalist. It would depend on many factors such as my personal beliefs, my loyalty towards Britain, and the circumstances of the time. However, I would like to believe that I would have stood by my convictions and remained true to my beliefs, regardless of the consequences.
