Please help and show work, I've tried but can't figure it out.
Tim and Jan started at the same spot. Tim went 8 miles east and 15 miles north. Jan went 5 miles west and 12 miles north. How far apart are they? Round your answer to the nearest tenth.
AAAaannndd the bot gets it wrong yet again!
Distance = √((8+5)^2 + (15-12)^2) = √(13^2+3^2) = √178
Distance = √((8-5)^2 + (15-12)^2)
Distance = √(3^2 + 3^2)
Distance = √18
Distance = 4.24 miles
