What is the Santa Ana volcano?

The Santa Ana volcano is an active stratovolcano located in El Salvador. It is the highest volcano in the country, standing at 2,381 meters (7,810 feet) above sea level. It is part of the San Salvador volcanic range and is located about 25 kilometers (15.5 miles) west of the capital city of San Salvador. The volcano is known for its frequent eruptions, with the most recent one occurring in October 2005.
