I am having trouble understanding what this means . If you could explian it to me thanks

This week’s lecture focused on a few things to consider when discussing various factors that impact the “value” of healthcare on the U.S. We covered some of the key indicators in value and also talked about different settings and the changing dynamic from inpatient to outpatient services. Reflect on your healthcare seeking behaviors and then In at least 150 of your own words, addressing the following:

Describe how you can utilize the knowledge you gained moving forward to better care for yourself and/or others.

That's a poorly worded direction. I'll rephrase it for you: Describe how you can use the knowledge you have gained to better care for yourself and/or others in the future.

I'll give you an example. You should be able to think about (and brainstorm) your own experiences.

While I worked for a school district in California, the district provided health insurance, both when I had dependents and when I didn't. I chose my own doctors, et al. After retirement, the district continued to provide health insurance until I reached 65 and could apply for a Medicare plan.

I learned that I could use just plain Medicare or I could find a Medicare plan through different insurance companies. It took about 5 years of contracting with different insurance companies, but I finally found an excellent Medicare Advantage plan that includes my primary care and specialist doctors, plus all that medical group's hospitals, urgent care sites, etc.

What I learned through all this is that health insurance is one thing, but that alone doesn't guarantee good health care. Each person or family needs to find the doctors and other providers that meet their needs, as well as finding health insurance coverage that will enable them to continue seeing those doctors and providers.

Other tutors may have some additional ideas for you.
