  1. I presume that there are 2250 grams in 2 1/4 kilograms

  2. PS. Since there are 1000 grams in 1 kilogram.

    multiply by 2 kilograms by 1000 gives 2000 grams
    1/4 is 0.25

    so 2.25*1000 equals 2250 grams
