The story of "The Turtle and the Rabbit Run a Race" teaches a few lessons. What lesson does it teach about cheating?

"The Turtle and the Rabbit Run a Race" personally taught me if I don't work hard, and I cheat to earn the success I want; I will get the negative revenge of my action. The turtle won the race without working hard. If a person doesn’t work hard he/she will definitely get a negative result of what they deserve.

Better. I'll make a few corrections (below), but this is much clearer in meaning!

"The Turtle and the Rabbit Run a Race" personally taught me that, if I don't work hard and I cheat to reach success, I will get negative results. The turtle won the race without working hard. If a person doesn’t work hard, he/she will definitely get a well deserved, negative result.

thank you :)

2.

What lesson does it teach about small friends?

2.
"The Turtle and the Rabbit Run a Race" taught us that small friends can always help us in our worse times.

You're welcome.

Make sure you understand why I made the changes in that last sentence. If you don't know why using "they" is incorrect in that sentence, let me know.

... in our worst times.

(Use "worse" when comparing only two things; use "worst" when comparing three or more things.)

I am going to take a couple online lessons to help me on my english grammar.

I fixed number 2. Also I was wondering if I am answering the questions correctly.
Thank you so much for helping :)

3-How does the story explain the appearance of box turtle shells?

3-
"The Turtle and the Rabbit Run a Race" explains that the turtles shell is spotted from the result of the rabbits beating.

#2 - sounds fine

#3 - Are you sure the spots are the result of the rabbit's beating? or the ants' sewing?

This is also a really good and comprehensive website for all things grammar and usage!

http://grammar.ccc.commnet.edu/grammar/

The INDEX is especially helpful when you are looking for something specific.

OOh yeah at the end the ants sew him I was confused because it said earlier

"Break him all up. He tore it all up on the back. That's what you see there now, that's where the marks in there."

But it is clear now

Thank you soooooo sooo much I study online and i find english to be really hard to study online.

Is this story more like a fable or more like a myth? Explain your reasoning.

I think the story was more like a fable, because it is using talking animals as characters. Also the story is teaching a moral at the end. I personally don't think the story was a myth because myths explain phenomenons, and historical stories myths also explain how things happen or why they happen myths are usually fictional explanations, and ancient stories.

#3 is fine.

5-If someone asked you what kind of tale this was, what would you say? Explain your reasoning.

5- If someone asked me what kind of tale this was I will say it is a folktale because it is past on and told by a person. The tale uses animals and teaches lessons, and it also comes from an oral tradition.

#4 is better. Just use a lower-case m on "myths," and it'll be fine.

#5 - Go into that link I gave you above, click on INDEX, and read about sequence of tenses. Also, study this -- http://public.wsu.edu/~brians/errors/passed.html -- and reread your sentences.

Ok i will read about that and fix number 5 and post it.

I really don't understand number 6 and 7 but I tried my best to answer.

6-This tale was transcribed exactly as it was told. What does the dialect add to the story?

6- The dialect added to the story humor tradition in it but it was really hard to understand.

7-How does the dialect make the story more difficult to follow? Explain.

7- the dialect made it really hard to read the story because it wasn’t using the English language it was using a more native American accent I think hearing the story would be really much easier than reading it.

7- *** THE

Rephrasing:

6- The dialect added humor to the story, but it was really hard to understand.

I don't know how this fits in: "tradition in it"

There is a run-on in there. Read the sentences aloud and figure out where there needs to be another period and capital.

ooh and for #5
Thank you so much I was confused on how to use past and passed the link was really helpful.
Am still reading the Sequence of Tenses link. :)

#5 - The only correction to make is to change "will" to "would." Perhaps reading about conditional sentences (If this ... then that...) will make more sense:

http://grammar.ccc.commnet.edu/grammar/conditional.htm

#7 - This makes no sense. Of course it's in English! An accent is not a different language. Please re-read the corrections I made for this above.

oooh ok thank you so much I was wondering I you have a link of a websites that teach grammar and give quizzes.

My english grammmmmmmmmer is terrible!!!

It does sound much clearer to use would it makes more sense that "will" because the action would happened .

8-In what ways are the stories "The Turtle and the Rabbit Run a Race" and "The Tortoise and the Hare" alike?

The term "oral tradition" is already stated in your first sentence here: "is passed on and told by a person."

Revision:
This tale is a folktale because it is passed on by people, telling stories again and again -- in an oral tradition. The tale also uses animals and teaches lessons.

5- If someone asked me what kind of tale this was I would say it is a folktale because it is passed on and told by a person. The tale also uses animals and teaches lessons.

9-
In what ways are the stories "The Turtle and the Rabbit Run a Race" and "The Tortoise and the Hare" different?

9-
"The Turtle and the Rabbit Run a Race" was a much longer story with a negative act from the turtle. The turtle cheats to win the race witch results to a negative ending for him.
"The Tortoise and the Hare" was a shorter story with a positive happy ending for the turtle.

I'll be back later and will check your work then.
