how can i identify the cell if it is plant or animal cell??
one has a cell wall, the other has a membrane.
@bobpursley.. oh thank you.. but i've already answered it..
but thank you.. :)
To identify whether a cell is a plant cell or an animal cell, you can follow these steps:
1. Observe the cell structure: Use a microscope to examine the cell. Look for specific structures that are characteristic of plant or animal cells.
2. Look for a cell wall: Plant cells have a rigid cell wall made of cellulose, which provides structural support. Animal cells lack a cell wall.
3. Check for chloroplasts: Plant cells contain chloroplasts, which are responsible for photosynthesis. These organelles contain green pigment called chlorophyll. Animal cells do not possess chloroplasts.
4. Look for a central vacuole: Plant cells usually have a large central vacuole that occupies a significant portion of the cell volume. Animal cells may have smaller vacuoles, but they are not as prominent as in plant cells.
5. Observe the shape: Plant cells are typically rectangular or square-shaped, while animal cells have more irregular shapes.
By comparing these characteristics, you can determine whether the cell you are observing is a plant or an animal cell. Remember that while these traits are typical, there may be exceptions or variations among different species.
