The Privacy Act 1988 applies to Australian Government agencies, private sector businesses with an annual turnover of more than $3 million, private health service providers, credit reporting bodies, and any other organizations that are prescribed by the regulations. It sets out the obligations regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information and provides individuals with rights and options to access and correct their personal information.
