I think Brown v. Board of Education is the most important because it laid the foundation for the integration of schools, which was a major step towards achieving equal rights for Black Americans and Mexican Americans. Another reason I select that one is because it rejected the argument of segregation and set a precedent for challenging discriminatory practices. A final reason is that it moved towards allowing equal funding for all schools, which helped address the disparities in education that existed between black and white students.

The supreme court case that was the most important was Civil Rights Act of 1964.This was written by Martin Luther King Jr before he was assassinated and it addressed civil rights for the first time since the end of the Civil War. This act made discrimination illegal because it did away with discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, or sex (gender). It also integrated the schools and led the way to the Voting Right Acts of 1965.
