"In news that will probably surprise no one, it turns out that money actually does buy happiness. Put more precisely, people with more income are more satisfied with their lives. This is according to a survey of people who play the lottery in Sweden. Scientists first located people who had different levels of success in the lottery. Then they asked the players to rate how satisfied they were with their lives. The survey found that lottery winners are happier with their lives than non-winners. Further, people who won large sums reported higher life satisfaction than people who won small amounts."
