The Great Compromise, also known as the Connecticut Compromise, was a major compromise at the Constitutional Convention. It resolved the issue of representation in the legislative branch by creating a bicameral legislature with equal representation in the Senate (two senators per state) and proportional representation based on population in the House of Representatives.
