Allergy

An allergy is an abnormal immune response to a substance that is typically harmless to most people. Common allergens include pollen, certain foods, pet dander, and insect venom. Symptoms of an allergic reaction can vary and may include itching, hives, swelling, sneezing, wheezing, and in severe cases, anaphylaxis. Treatment for allergies may include antihistamines, decongestants, corticosteroids, and in severe cases, epinephrine injections. It is important for individuals with allergies to identify and avoid their triggers to prevent future allergic reactions.
