Use this space to plan what you will need to type in your portfolio. You can copy and paste from here into your portfolio. This portfolio will not be a document upload as before, it will be set as questions with space to place your written response.

Please think about the service project you planned and/or completed this term for Civics. Look back to Unit 2 Lesson 7 Portfolio for the project you planned.

Think about the problem you chose for the service project. Was it difficult to put into effect? (If you couldn't implement the service project, then tell why or why not you think it would be difficult.)

Do you feel you helped solve a problem in your community? Why or why not? (If you couldn't implement the project, do you think you could have helped solve the problem? Why or why not?)

What other service projects might you want to do in the future?

I planned a service project to address food insecurity in my community by organizing a food drive at my school. The problem of food insecurity was not difficult to understand, but it was challenging to coordinate all the logistics involved in setting up the food drive, promoting it, and collecting donations.

I believe that by organizing the food drive, I did help to address the problem of food insecurity in my community. Even though I may not have completely solved the issue, every donation collected helped to provide food for those in need.

In the future, I might want to organize a fundraiser for a local charity, volunteer at a soup kitchen, or start a community garden to address food insecurity in a more sustainable way. I am also interested in working on projects related to environmental conservation, education, or mental health awareness.
