1I’ll never forget the day my family and I packed eight suitcases in the back of my dad’s SUV and my uncle’s sedan for our trip to Singapore. 2While mom insisted that we leave three hours early, dad was relaxed. 3Still, he succumbed to mom’s wishes and pulled out of the driveway, and my uncle began to back out of the driveway too. 4Suddenly I remembered that I had seen dad take off his fanny pack and placed it on the dining table. 5Unfortunately, the chaos of last minute house details distracted my dad. 6I prepared myself for everyone’s reaction once they knew that dad had left the house without our passports for our international trip.
