Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD) is a rare and fatal degenerative brain disorder that affects physical and mental function. It is characterized by rapidly progressive dementia, impaired coordination, and other neurological symptoms. CJD is caused by an abnormal infectious protein called a prion, which leads to the destruction of brain cells.
