BRIEFLY EXPLAIN HOW DOES AKI CAUSE PERICARDITIS , PULMONARY EDEMA , MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION , HYPERTENSION AND PULMONARY EMBOLISM IN PEDIATRICS AS A COMPLICATION

Acute kidney injury (AKI) can lead to fluid overload in the body, which can cause pericarditis (inflammation of the lining around the heart) and pulmonary edema (fluid accumulation in the lungs). This can put a strain on the heart and lead to myocardial infarction (heart attack). The build-up of fluid can also increase blood pressure, leading to hypertension.

Additionally, AKI can disrupt the body's normal clotting mechanisms, increasing the risk of developing blood clots. This can lead to pulmonary embolism, where a blood clot travels to the lungs and blocks blood flow. These complications can be life-threatening and require prompt medical intervention in pediatric patients with AKI.
