Observation of peppermint oil to polysorbate water?

When peppermint oil is added to polysorbate water, the oil floats on the surface of the water due to the oil and water not being miscible. However, once polysorbate is added and mixed in, the oil disperses and forms small droplets throughout the water, creating a milky appearance. The polysorbate acts as an emulsifier, allowing the oil and water to mix and creating a stable emulsion. The mixture may have a strong, refreshing peppermint scent and can be used for various purposes such as in aromatherapy or as a natural bug repellent.
