Jared, Josias, Bryan, and Michael were playing video games at Jared and Josias’ house. After a while, they began to get bored and were discussing over what they should do next. It was 7 pm at the time. Parents were talking in the living room while the four friends played in Jared’s room. They decided to sneak out to the backyard to play, since they knew the parent’s wouldn’t approve of them going outdoors at night. They then agreed over the game hide and seek and went out to hide in the dense forest while Jared got stuck as the seeker. After counting to 100, he went out to go look for them. After about 20 minutes passed, he decided to give up for it was getting real dark out. He yelled out, “Okay guys, you win!” There was no response so he yelled again, “You can come out now!” Still, nobody answered. Jared assumed they were simply playing around, trying to scare him. “I’m going inside and unless you want to sleep outside, I’d suggest you join me!”, he called out. He turned to go back inside, but could not find his home. Realization hit, and he knew he was lost.

Jared's heart began to race as panic set in. He had never been in the forest at night before, and the darkness seemed to close in around him. He called out for his friends again, but still, there was no response.

Feeling a surge of fear, Jared tried to retrace his steps, but the trees all looked the same and he couldn't remember which direction he had come from. He stumbled over roots and branches, his breath coming in short, frantic gasps.

Suddenly, Jared heard a twig snap behind him. He froze, his heart pounding in his chest. He turned slowly, expecting to see one of his friends playing a prank on him. But there was nothing there, just the rustling of leaves in the wind.

With a sinking feeling in his stomach, Jared realized that he was not alone in the forest. Something was out there with him, something unseen and unknown. And it was watching him.

Fear consumed him as he realized that he was lost in the dark woods, with no one to help him. The howls of distant animals echoed through the trees, sending shivers down his spine.

Jared knew that he had to find a way out, before whatever was out there found him. Gathering his courage, he took a deep breath and began to walk, hoping against hope that he would find his way back home before it was too late.
