5. Give the steps of an experiment to prove that photosynthesis occurs with both light dependent and light independent phases. ((something easy i am not a good thinkier but it has to be grade 12 university thinking but simple)

1. Obtain a healthy green leaf, such as from a plant like a tomato or spinach.

2. Place the leaf in a beaker filled with water and expose it to a light source for a few hours to allow photosynthesis to occur.
3. Collect a small sample of the leaf and test for the presence of starch using iodine solution. Starch is a byproduct of the light-independent phase of photosynthesis.
4. Next, remove the leaf from the water and place it in a beaker filled with water but without any exposure to light for a few hours.
5. Test the leaf again for the presence of starch using iodine solution. If no starch is detected, it would indicate that the light-independent phase of photosynthesis did not occur in the absence of light.
6. Compare the results from both tests to demonstrate that photosynthesis involves both light-dependent and light-independent phases.
