A non-proportional relationship is one in which two quantities do not increase or decrease at a consistent rate. In other words, the relationship between the two quantities is not constant. For example, if the number of hours you work is not directly related to the amount of money you earn, then the relationship between hours worked and money earned is non-proportional.
