Provide two examples of incidences, since you started to teach, that influenced you to think in

particular ways about social identities namely age and race

1. One particular incident that influenced my thinking about age was when a younger student in my class made a comment about the older students being slow and out of touch with technology. This made me realize the ageist attitudes that often exist in society and the importance of addressing and challenging these stereotypes in the classroom.

2. Another incident that impacted my thinking about race was when a student of color shared their experiences of being discriminated against and feeling marginalized in the school environment. This experience highlighted the systemic racism that exists in our society and the need for educators to actively work to create inclusive and equitable spaces for all students, regardless of their race or ethnic background.
