Three factors can influence self esteem and self awareness negatively

Media
Feedback and others
Achievements

Media: The constant bombardment of unrealistic beauty standards and accomplishments can lead to feelings of inadequacy and low self-esteem. Social media in particular has been shown to have a negative impact on self-esteem, as individuals compare their lives and appearances to the curated versions of others that are often presented online.

Feedback and others: Negative feedback from others, whether it be from friends, family, or colleagues, can greatly impact an individual's self-esteem. Criticism, belittling comments, and bullying can all contribute to feelings of worthlessness and diminished self-awareness.

Achievements: Focusing solely on achievements and goals can lead to a constant need for validation and approval from others. When individuals tie their self-worth to their accomplishments, they may experience a decrease in self-esteem and self-awareness when they fail to meet their own or others' expectations. This can create a cycle of seeking external validation and never feeling truly satisfied with oneself.
