For my research proposal, I have chosen the topic of the impact of social media on mental health. This topic has gained significant attention in recent years as the use of social media platforms has become widespread globally. Many studies have explored the potential negative effects of social media, such as increased anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem. However, there is still a need for further research to better understand the relationship between social media use and mental health outcomes.
Three research questions that I will focus on for my proposal are:

2. What are the effects of social media on body image perception and body dissatisfaction?
3. Does excessive social media use contribute to symptoms of social anxiety?
To find resources and gather information for my research proposal, I will start by exploring academic databases such as Google Scholar, JSTOR, and PubMed. These platforms provide access to a wide range of scholarly articles, journals, and research papers. Additionally, I will review relevant books, reports, and publications on mental health and social media. Keeping track of my findings will help me stay organized and evaluate the relevant information for my research.
