As a married woman from Pennsylvania, I would encourage my husband to vote for John Breckenridge. Although I personally believe that slavery is wrong, I understand that it is a states' rights issue. Breckenridge's support for popular sovereignty would allow each state to decide for themselves, respecting the principles of democracy.
