In CRS how did Paul reconcile one Simus with Philemon

In the book "Children of the Mind" by Orson Scott Card, Paul Reynolds reconciled one Simus with Philemon by merging their consciousnesses together.

Paul Reynolds, or Ender Wiggin, is a central character in the "Ender's Game" series known as the Speaker for the Dead. In "Children of the Mind," he encounters the AI construct Simus, which represents the collective consciousness of every person on the planet Path. Simus, having been separated from Philemon, the previous ruler of Path, existed as an independent entity.

To reconcile Simus and Philemon, Paul used the Descolada virus, which affects genetic material, to combine their consciousnesses. By infecting both Simus and Philemon with the Descolada virus, Paul was able to merge them into a single being. This process allowed Simus to inherit the memories, knowledge, and experiences of Philemon and vice versa, resulting in the reconciliation of the two entities.

The merging of Simus and Philemon allowed for a more comprehensive understanding and perspective, as both entities had different viewpoints and experiences. It also allowed for a more unified leadership on Path, as the knowledge and wisdom of Philemon complemented the collective intelligence of Simus.
