The last step of the lawmaking process is the implementation of the law. After a bill has been passed by both houses of the legislature (such as the House of Representatives and the Senate in the United States) and signed by the executive (such as the President), it becomes law. The government then puts the law into effect by assigning responsibilities to relevant agencies, educating the public, and enforcing the law through the judicial system.
