"Kamala Harris Accepts Vice President Nomination"

by Kamala Harris

There’s something happening, all across the country.

It’s not about Joe or me.

It’s about you.

It’s about us. People of all ages and colors and creeds who are, yes, taking to the streets, and also persuading our family members, rallying our friends, organizing our neighbors, and getting out the vote.

We are demanding change. We are demanding justice. We are demanding a future that is fair and equitable for all.

When Joe asked me to be his running mate, I knew this wasn't just about making history. It was about making a difference.

I come from a long line of fighters – fighters for justice, for equality, for a better world. My mother, Shyamala, was one of those fighters. She had a saying: "You may be the first to do many things, but make sure you're not the last."

I am proud to stand on the shoulders of those who came before me, and I am even more proud to fight alongside all of you.

This election is about the soul of our nation. It is about whether we will continue to be divided, or whether we will stand united against the forces of hate and division.

Joe and I have a plan – a plan to beat this virus, a plan to rebuild our economy, a plan to address systemic racism, a plan to tackle climate change, and a plan to make sure every person in this country has the opportunity to succeed.

But we cannot do it alone. We need all of you. We need your voices. We need your passion. We need your commitment to creating a better future.

So let's get out there and make our voices heard. Let's fight for justice. Let's fight for equality. Let's fight for a brighter tomorrow.

This is our moment. This is our time.

Let's make history, together.
