El béisbol

In addition to Sammy Sosa and Alfonso Soriano, another famous baseball player from the Caribbean was Roberto Clemente.

Roberto Clemente (1934–1972) was from Puerto Rico. He played baseball for the Pittsburgh Pirates from 1955 through 1972. During the off seasons, Clemente donated his time to help people in Puerto Rico and Latin America, delivering baseball equipment and food to the needy. He died in a plane crash in 1972 on his way to aid earthquake victims in Nicaragua. Clemente was inducted posthumously to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1973.
