The U.S.-Mexican War ended with the signing of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo on February 2, 1848. This treaty was negotiated between the United States and Mexico, and it established the Rio Grande as the boundary between the two countries. Mexico also agreed to sell the territories of California and New Mexico to the United States for $15 million.
