According to statistics from the Icelandic Tourist Board, the number of tourists visiting Iceland has been increasing steadily over the past decade. In 2019, a record-breaking 2.4 million tourists visited Iceland. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and associated travel restrictions, the number of tourists significantly decreased in 2020.
