Who is Anna Mani

Anna Mani was an Indian scientist and meteorologist. She was born on 23 August 1918 in Kerala, India, and passed away on 16 August 2001. Mani had a passion for science from a young age and became one of the first women to pursue a career in meteorology in India. She earned her master's degree in meteorology and worked for the Indian Meteorological Department for several decades.

Anna Mani made significant contributions to the field of meteorology in India and was involved in setting up weather observation stations across the country. She also conducted research on various meteorological phenomena, such as monsoons and cyclones, and published numerous papers on these topics. Mani was recognized for her work and received several awards and honors throughout her career, including the Padma Shri award, one of India's highest civilian honors, in 1962.
