What are the 3 types of Galaxies

The three main types of galaxies are:

1. Spiral galaxies: These galaxies have a central bulge with arms that spiral outwards. They often have a rotating disk of gas, dust, and stars. Our own Milky Way galaxy is a spiral galaxy.

2. Elliptical galaxies: These galaxies are usually elliptical or spherical in shape, and they lack the spiral arms seen in spiral galaxies. Elliptical galaxies are made up of older stars and contain very little gas and dust. They are often found in galaxy clusters.

3. Irregular galaxies: As the name suggests, irregular galaxies do not have a regular shape or structure like spiral or elliptical galaxies. They often have an unorganized mix of stars, gas, and dust. Irregular galaxies can be small or large and are often the result of gravitational interactions or mergers with other galaxies.
