The argument I find more compelling is in favor of genetically modified (GM) salmon. Initially, my view on this issue was uncertain and neutral, as I saw the merits of both sides. However, after analyzing the articles and considering the conflicting points of view, I have come to believe that GM salmon can provide substantial benefits. One article argues that GM salmon can help meet the increasing global demand for food, addressing the concerns of overfishing and food scarcity. The article states, "GM salmon can grow faster and larger than conventional salmon, allowing for a more efficient and sustainable food production system." This evidence supports the idea that GM salmon can play a crucial role in achieving food security and sustainability. Another example is the statement, "The FDA thoroughly reviewed the science and concluded that GM salmon is safe to eat and has no significant impact on the environment." This quote provides reassurance that GM salmon has undergone rigorous testing and is deemed safe. While there are valid concerns about potential environmental impacts and consumer acceptance, my viewpoint on this issue did not change because I believe the potential benefits of GM salmon outweigh these concerns.
