The majority of water reabsorption occurs in the renal tubules, specifically in the proximal convoluted tubule (PCT) of the nephron in the kidney. The PCT is responsible for reabsorbing over 65% of the filtered water, along with various solutes and nutrients, from the filtrate back into the bloodstream.
