Why Don't we remember our dreams? Simple Answer.

One simple answer is that the process of memory consolidation during sleep is still not fully understood. Dreams primarily occur during the rapid eye movement (REM) stage of sleep, where the brain is highly active. This stage is associated with intense dreaming, but the brain is not necessarily focused on encoding memories. Additionally, dream content can be abstract, illogical, and fleeting, making it challenging to recall and remember in detail upon waking up. Furthermore, memories are consolidated and stored in different brain regions, and not all dreams may be sufficiently impactful or emotionally charged to be stored as long-term memories.
