The five food groups represented in MyPlate do not include:

1. Sugars and sweets: These are foods and drinks that are high in added sugars, such as soda, candy, cakes, and cookies. While small amounts of sugars are found naturally in some foods like fruits and milk, added sugars provide no nutritional value and are not part of the five food groups.

2. Fats and oils: Although some fats and oils are essential for a healthy diet, they are not included as a separate food group on MyPlate. Fats and oils are often already present in the foods we consume from other food groups, such as meats and dairy products. High-fat foods like butter, margarine, and fried foods should be consumed in moderation.

3. Alcohol: Alcoholic beverages are not part of the five food groups. While moderate alcohol consumption may have some health benefits for certain individuals, excessive or regular alcohol intake can lead to various health problems and should be consumed in moderation, if at all.

4. Non-nutritive sweeteners: These are artificial sweeteners like saccharin, aspartame, and sucralose, commonly found in sugar-free products. Non-nutritive sweeteners do not provide any nutritional value and are not considered a food group in MyPlate.

5. Seasonings and condiments: While seasonings and condiments can enhance the flavor of meals, they are not considered a separate food group. These include items like salt, ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard, and soy sauce. They should be used sparingly as they may contain high amounts of sodium, sugar, and unhealthy fats.
