Under the Yuan Dynasty, the Mongols had the higher social status compared to the Chinese. Kublai Khan and the Mongol rulers placed themselves at the top of the social hierarchy and held positions of power and privilege. The Mongols dominated the military, occupied key government posts, and enjoyed economic and political advantages. Chinese scholars and officials, on the other hand, were often excluded from positions of power and faced discrimination.
