Southwest Asia and South Asia Portfolio Worksheet

Part 1 – Identify a Problem
Write a short response in complete sentences to each of the following questions. Each response should be approximately 3–4 sentences.
1. What is the problem you have identified? Be sure to include the nation(s) affected.

The problem I have identified is the issue of religious conflict in South Asia, specifically in India and Pakistan. Both nations have a history of tensions and violence between Hindus and Muslims, leading to communal clashes, riots, and even terrorist attacks. The problem stems from deep-rooted religious differences, political disagreements, and the partition of India in 1947, which created separate countries for Hindus (India) and Muslims (Pakistan). This ongoing problem not only disrupts the social fabric of these nations but also poses a threat to regional stability.
