I believe that the Mexican-American War was not justified. The underlying reason for the conflict was the annexation of Texas by the United States, which Mexico vehemently opposed. However, using military force to resolve this dispute was unnecessary and could have been avoided through diplomacy. Furthermore, Mexico's inferior military capabilities and the disproportionate casualties suffered by its soldiers throughout the war suggest that the United States had an unfair advantage. The war also resulted in the loss of significant Mexican territory, causing lasting tensions and disputes between the two nations. Overall, the Mexican-American War was an unjustifiable act of aggression on the part of the United States.
