Nigeria s leading export is oil or minerals

As of my knowledge cutoff date in 2023, Nigeria's leading export continues to be oil. The country is one of the largest oil producers in Africa, and its economy is heavily dependent on the petroleum sector. Crude oil exports compose the vast majority of the nation's export earnings.

While Nigeria also has a variety of minerals such as natural gas, tin, iron ore, coal, limestone, niobium, lead, zinc, and arable land, oil remains the dominant export commodity. The petroleum industry contributes significantly to government revenue and export earnings, although the country aims to diversify its economy to reduce dependence on oil.
