What are four of the major bilingual program

1) Dual Language Immersion Program: This program aims to develop bilingualism and biliteracy in students by providing instruction in two languages, usually English and another language, throughout their academic career. Students receive instruction in both languages daily, with the goal of achieving proficiency in both languages.

2) Transitional Bilingual Education Program: This program is designed for students who are non-English speakers and aims to gradually transition them into English-only instruction. Students receive academic instruction in their native language while also receiving English language development support. The goal is for students to become proficient in English while maintaining their academic progress.

3) Heritage Language Program: This program is specifically designed for students who already have some proficiency or cultural connection to a specific language. It focuses on developing and maintaining their heritage language skills while also providing English language development support. The goal is for students to become bilingual and culturally competent.

4) Two-Way Immersion Program: This program brings together native English speakers and native speakers of another language in the same classroom. Instruction is provided in both languages, and students learn from and with each other. The goal is for all students to become bilingual and biliterate while also becoming culturally competent and developing positive attitudes towards other cultures and languages.
