Consider who the narrator was in a novel you have read or studied, and pick a memorable passage.

In the writing space below, rewrite the passage to make the narrator unreliable!

Hint: An unreliable narrator will try to hide the truth, avoid revealing too much information or provide false information.

Original passage:

"I knew from the moment I saw him that there was something off about Tom. He always seemed to be hiding something, with his constant fidgeting and nervous glances. But it wasn't until that fateful night, when I stumbled upon him in the dark alleyway, that I realized just how unreliable he truly was. His eyes darted around, his voice quivered as he tried to explain his presence there. It was clear to me then, he was not to be trusted."

Unreliable narrator version:

"From the first glance, I noticed something peculiar about Tom. He had this air of mystery, always shrouded in secrecy, never revealing his true nature. However, it wasn't until that ominous night, when by chance I happened upon him in the dimly lit alley, that I discovered the extent of his untrustworthiness. Despite his best attempts at deception, I deciphered the uncertainty in his shifting gaze and trembling voice. It dawned upon me, then and there, that Tom was a master manipulator, concealing his true intentions."
