The Trail of Tears took place in several regions of Georgia, including the northwest region near present-day Chattanooga, Tennessee, and the northeastern region near present-day Cleveland, Tennessee. Additionally, parts of the Trail of Tears passed through other areas of northern Georgia as Native Americans were forcibly relocated westward to the Indian Territory (present-day Oklahoma).
