What percentage of energy does Krill get from the sun?

Krill, as marine crustaceans found in the ocean, do not directly derive energy from the sun like photosynthetic organisms. Instead, krill obtain their energy indirectly by feeding on phytoplankton (microscopic, photosynthetic organisms) that do receive energy from the sun. Phytoplankton convert solar energy, through the process of photosynthesis, into organic compounds that krill consume as a source of energy. Therefore, krill indirectly access energy originating from the sun through their consumption of phytoplankton.
